El Gallo De Oro began the way all the best restaurants do — with a family, a dream, and recipes worth sharing. In 2011, we opened our doors at 360 Ocean Avenue in the heart of Greenville, Jersey City, with one promise: to serve the same authentic Mexican food our family grew up on, made entirely from scratch, every single day.
What started as a small kitchen with big ambitions has grown into a neighborhood institution. But even after more than fifteen years, the food hasn't changed. We still make our salsas fresh every morning. We still press our tortillas by hand. We still slow-cook our meats the way our abuela taught us. There are no shortcuts in this kitchen — and our customers can taste the difference.
